Efraín García is an argentine pianist and composer born in Rosario in 1969.
He lived 13 years in Brasilia (Brazil), where he was a disciple of pianist Ney Salgado (3rd generation of Franz Liszt disciples.) He also did studies of musical analysis and composition with Luis Mucillo. Later on, once he was back in Buenos Aires (Argentina), he perfected his skills with Aldo Antognazzi.
He has participated in several international musical contests and earned the 3rd prize in the National Piano Contest of Aracatuba in Brazil. He was awarded a scholarship twice by the Antorchas Foundation to continue perfecting his skills in the country.
As a soloist and chamber musician, he gave several presentations in countries like Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Colombia and Germany. In Argentina he already gave concerts in Rosario, La Plata, Buenos Aires, Alta Gracia, Bariloche, Mendoza and San Juan.
His first album, “Ensueños” (roughly translated as “Dreamscapes”) was released in 2003 and already sold over three thousand copies. His second work, “Ondina” (“Undine”) was released in 2006 and already sold over one thousand copies. Both albums were released under the independent label Zurenov Music and were produced by Efraín García. His piano works have been broadcasted by several national and international radios.
