Album Notes

EGNARO Saving Rock N’ Roll. One song at a time. When did rock n’ roll become so safe and politically correct? Whatever happened to the days of the wasted rockstar that we grew up to idolize? This is where EGNARO kicks in the door… With their latest LP, “The Panties Your Mother Laid Out for You” Chicago’s undoubtedly loudest rock quintet EGNARO blasts it’s listener’s ears with a distinctive sonic assault of straightforward hard rock n’ roll, pop, blues and punk in it’s most primitive and sleazy form. Driven by raw guitar riffs, anthem choruses, thunderous backbeats, and homage to their idols, EGNARO summons attention to themselves with ferocity. With ten brand new tracks, EGNARO have essentially captured its raucous live performance and immortalized it onto disc for their long awaited follow up to their countless demos, singles & EP’s. EGNARO is for the rock n’ roller who get off in bar fights, swigging whiskey, sexin’ it up, maximum volume and eternal youth. Over the past few years EGNARO have been local support to many national acts such as Twisted Sister, Local H, Enuff Z’ Nuff, SEV & Chris Connelly of Ministry to name a few. Tracks such as, “THE WEEKEND” and “CUT YOU” have considerable airplay on Chicago’s major music programs on WRCX (Q101) and WZZN (94.7) all summer long and the band continues to dominate venues such as THE DOUBLE DOOR, THE METRO, THE MUTINY, THE STAR PLAZA, Hard Rock Cafe and all that they enter. Girls & Guys: “The Panties Your Mother Laid Out for You” hits hard & fast and will leave your eyes and ears eagerly obsessing for more. THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN; CHECK THEM WHEN THEY CONQUER YOURS. www.myspace.com/egnaro egnaronation@gmail.com

Thunderous Debut!
author: Ahzmed Mael Al Akbar
This album was sitting in my mail bin for about 3 months before I even gave it a chance. After opening up the package and seeing the album cover and album title (Nice Seinfeld reference guys!, ed.) I popped it in my player right away. I must say I am not blown away from the production of the record, (it's certainly low-fi)but the live feel of it almost calls for it. Maybe it should have been a vinyl release? Back to the music. The band certainly wears it's influences on its sleeve with the highlights like the chanty opener " The Weekend", the tounge in cheek(?) lyrics on "Deal with the Devil" & the angst ridden, "Cut You" one can tell the band lives & breathes "Appetite for Destruction" The real gem on the album comes from out of nowhere, "Note 2 Self" a 2 minute pure pop rock radio ready catchy tune really caught this listener off guard. I wonder if the band is headed more in that direction than more aggro-cock rock that presides it? As the album progresses, the band almost seems confused with its own identity then brings it full circle with the vocal assault on the closing track, "Someway" I am curious to see what the next release will sound like from these young guns. First full album by Egnaro among the highlights of new recordings
author: Jim DeRogatis, JIM DeROGATIS Pop Music Critic, WXRT, Chicago Sun
Continuing this column's periodic survey of the most worthy contenders from the always-overflowing mail bin of local releases, we have the naughtily titled "The Panties Your Mother Laid Out for You" (Reverse Orange Records), the first full album from Egnaro (that's orange spelled backward). "AC/DC, Guns n' Roses and Motley Crue all had sex with each other and have given birth to a five-headed demon love seed," the quintet boasts. At its best, though, the group limits the hair-metal influence to some, er, eye-catching cover art and unapologetically bad-boy lyrics -- heavy on the talk of snakeskin boots and deals with the devil -- while emphasizing the pounding, rhythmic economy of AC/DC or Motorhead in the music, nicely straddling the line between punk and metal just as those groups did. Visit the band on the Web at www.myspace.com/egnaro.
