Album Notes

ego band usa is a Seattle based, world bound keyboard/drum duo. Bombastic and emphatic they create profound expressions of what live instrumental music can be today. Playing with a possessed originality and striking musicianship they reflect upon modern aesthetics with an honest idealism. Bring to mind the energy of the Bad Plus and the groove of Medesky, Martin and Wood without sounding a thing like either, ego band usa is the most exciting musical force to come down the pike this year. Daring, deep music, ego band usa.

I love this CD and you will too if you love good music

Awesome musicianship - funky at times, epic at times, heartfelt and tearjerking at others. At first I was skeptical that they could pull this off without a bass player but Ty handles the bass amazingly with his left hand. Ty blows me away every time I hear this album, with his soloing ability and the steller chord structures he hammers out on his keys. Jacques' drumming is great, subtle and dynamic - often over the top in its complexity, at other times sweet succinct and just groovin. I'll put this album on over most anything else in my collection any day. I love it.. and I just cant wait to see them live..

I heard about these guys in Keyboard magazine. It's very hard to describe their music, a little bit prog, a little bit fusion, a little bit funky. Completley original. It's just really great, repeated listenings are rewarding and unavoidable!
