ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
There are times that music speaks for you when you can’t speak for yourself. With the upcoming release of her sophomore project “Epifanee”, gospel soul singer Ehmandah conveys the thoughts and emotions of those longing to be real with themselves and God. Skillfully weaving a defiant edge in with her smooth vocals, she dares her listeners to be expressive in their pursuit of God’s purpose in their lives.

Singing professionally for just 5 years and with her 2002 debut album “Spiritually Gifted, Speaking from the Soul” under her belt, Ehmandah has already made it to the stage at Bobby Jones Gospel. Her unique take on gospel music can best be described as an eclectic mix of alternative, traditional gospel, jazz, contemporary Christian, and R&B. It was Ehmandah’s distinctive style and inspiring message that caught even the attention of the Los Angeles Metro, one of the country’s largest transportation authorities. She recently performed there at the 100th birthday celebration for Arthur Winston, the LA Metro’s most senior employee.

While playing a venue such as the LA Metro isn’t typical for most Gospel artists, it illustrates precisely what “Epifanee” is all about. A play on the word epiphany, the project describes a spiritual awakening Ehmandah had that revealed to her that music is her true purpose. And when music is your purpose, you will take it anywhere. Acting as a conductor of sorts, Ehmandah now uses her music as a tool to redirect her listeners spiritually, mentally, and emotionally – whether they are sitting in a church pew or an office building.

While fans eagerly anticipate “Epifanee”, Ehmandah is currently offering a taste of what’s to come on the newly released maxi-single “Relax”. Sporting a cool yet restful vibe, the song musically commands listeners to take life at a slower pace. Produced by PID production, “Relax” is classic Ehmandah – and features lyrics sung in her characteristic multi-genre infused style that are authentic in their expression of the real emotions that occupy the minds of most people.

The maxi-single “Relax” also includes the full version of “Feel So Good”, along with song snippets of “He Keeps” and “Get Myself Together”. “Get Myself Together” was not only written and produced by Ehmandah, but also features her on keyboards. Ehmandah’s knack for playing keys are a little known fact - but she has played for over 10 years, and writes, composes, and produces her own music.

Currently finishing up “Epifanee” and planning a promotional tour, Ehmandah is thrilled to be exactly where God has her. “This project awakened me to the fact that I have to be Ehmandah and no one else,” she remarks. “I can’t characterize what I do… I flow with whatever God gives me, whatever the genre.” And as Ehmandah keeps singing and writing songs that progress her listeners closer to reaching their own epiphany, her fans will certainly flow right along with her.
