Album Notes

What is THE EIGHTFOLD WAY?

For centuries Buddhists have believed in The Eightfold Path to enlightenment. Other mystics believe in The Eightfold Way to opening the mind's third eye. It was explained that through music, dance and meditation one could transcend their own evolution and enter a higher state of being. In 1964, the physicist, Murray Gell-Mann established the basis for quantum physics in his book entitled "The Eightfold Way." In the 1960's Timothy Leary explored the Eightfold model of human consciousness. Now in the early part of the 21st century, three musicians have come together to unite physics, metaphysics and mental experimentation in the new model for musical consciousness: The Eightfold Way.

The music of The Eightfold Way combines all of the best elements of psychedelic, progressive, funk, and hard rock. One moment entrancing keyboard laden soundscapes lie beneath howling guitar melodies, then eventually they give way to straight up "in your face" rock n' roll and heavy drum and bass funk all with the subtle grace of a full orchestral-like composition. The music is a refreshing, yet somewhat reminiscent, change to the music of modern times, and is definitely ground-breaking in it's arrangement. Open your ears to The Eightfold Way.
