notes
If you are into Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan or Carmen McRae you will become an immediate fan of Eileina Williams' debut Jazz vocal CD - "introducing... Eileina Williams" and a fan indeed of this lady of song. In the style of her above-mentioned heroines, Eileina continues the tradition by providing a fresh vocal viewpoint of her own while remaining true to the Jazz art form. With a musical background that encompasses Gospel, R&B and Euro-popular music Eileina transitions effortlessly to the Jazz World and is a welcome addition!
Eileina Williams is a working girl that is fulfilling her dreams transforming into a complete jazz performer. This has not happened over night mind you. She was born into a musical family, singing in church at the tender age of 3 in her home town Birmingham, England and continuing to learn her craft through her teens singing Gospel. As the years passed, Eileina continued to sing and develop her own style.
In 2005, she is full-fledged budding star with the release of her tribute to jazz vocal classics. With an outstanding supporting cast, she recorded her debut in a mere two days. When things happen that quickly and smoothly you know it is your destiny, it is in the stars.
Williams steps out with style covering timeless classics such as "Our Love Is Here To Stay," which gives an indication of her tremendous range and exceptional projection, and bluesy smoke filled nightclub numbers like "Willow Weep For Me," focus on her smooth and sultry style and innate sense of rhythm. The warmth and spirituality of her personality comes shining through on every track.
Eileina now resides in California where she works steadily. Plans are underway to bring her back to Europe for appearances in the near future so watch out for her at a venue near you!

Ella, Carmen and Sarah? Hah! LONG LIVE EILEINA!
author: Melonie MagruderEileina Williams' vocal/solo drum version of Harry Woods' "What A Little Moonlight Can Do" is flat out one of the best jazz vocal adventures I've heard in 25 years. She may 'pay tribute' to Ella, Carmen and Sarah, but her nuanced voice, her phrasing, her arrangements and her sparkle are all her own. Her vocals give new meaning to the term 'rich' and the song selection is harmonious and exciting.
Loved it loved it loved it!!
author: WilmonI've always loved this music and the album takes you through a whole range of emotions. It's so nice to hear a singer sing melody without all the pyrotechnics.
