Album Notes

On a fateful morning in the fall of 1999 Eric Bervig sat down in the grass underneath a small oak tree outside a college dormitory in Bemidji Minnesota and began playing a new song on his guitar. Drawn by the winsome melodies and catchy lyrics Joshua Herbert ran into his dorm room, grabbed his violin, and joined the song writer on the lawn for an impromptu concert for the new students moving into the dorms. This was their first concert.
Later on that year they formed the band Barefoot, but after a struggle which lasted several years they abandoned the project and went their separate ways.
After a lengthy hiatus Eric and Josh decided to come back together with a pared down core sound and a fresh new approach to style and expression. Thus the band e.j.asher was formed. Since then, they have been spreading their unique blend of Jazz Influenced Indie Pop music in an every increasing geographical area.
]Eric's songwriting abilities plum an extraordinary depth while still connecting with nearly everyone who hears them, and his unique and highly skilled guitar playing is well... unique. Josh's vocals are both poignant and lively, and his lead-violin stylings add another voice to the group.
e.j.asher ‘s first album, released in May of 2006, is a collection of fresh new tunes that showcase a wide range of emotional and stylistic content and contain lyrical content which is unbridled in its honesty and creativity.
