What is EKEN IS DEAD you ask? EID stands for taking the next step in your life; It’s conquering your old dreams and moving on to new. It’s killing off what you once believed in and fighting for what matters to you now. Started in a garage in 2003, Vic Arevalo formed the band then known as Eken. A word that essentially meant nothing, but stood for everything Vic believed in. Eken was an untainted pure creation and the first venture into the battlefields of the Los Angeles music scene. The formative years were tough and the battles fought changed the face and lineup of what Eken could no longer be. EKEN IS DEAD (say it like wreck, not eek) is a Los Angeles, CA based four-piece hard rock alternative/metal act. Since it's inception of 2008, EKEN IS DEAD has been on a mission of domination. In just three years, EID has earned a well deserved reputation based on professionalism and commitment to excellence. Whether an intimate local show or a packed House of Blues, EKEN IS DEAD has consistently brought their high intensity and charismatic presence to every single one of their shows.In addition to the relentless live schedule for which they have toured both regionally and internationally, EKEN IS DEAD has independently released two full length albums including their latest effort, What Lies in the Mirror.
