Meet Elaina. Be prepared to fall in love. Elaina is from Michigan, but you likely won't meet a more Southern heart. Her style will remind you of a classy Marilyn Monroe and her voice will captivate you with its sultry innocence and natural purity. Her songs are whimsical with lilting melodies that make you feel weightless. Elaina's voice brings back the nostalgia of yesterday and gives you hope for a beautiful future. At sixteen, Elaina spent her first year at Interlochen Arts Academy as part of the Singer Songwriter program. She has just finished recording her first CD at Halohorn Studios which debuts in the Summer of 2013.
Elaina remembers song-writing from her earliest memories. But when she picked up a guitar at 14, it immediately blossomed into a colorful means of expression. She soon found herself studying singer-songwriting at Interlochen Summer Camp under Dick Siegel, Frank Youngman, and Erin Moore (The Ragbirds) and was asked to audition for the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy ( IAA). She now studies songwriting under Courtney Kaiser-Cartel at the onset of the first singer-songwriter class offered at IAA!
Elaina is well-known, playing local venues and is a must-see in the White Lake Community. She has opened for major recording artist Meg Hutchinson at the historic Howmet Playhouse in Whitehall, MI and was a performer at the 2012 Tedx Muskegon. Accompanying herself with her guitar or celebrated yellow uke, she is a contemporary acoustic artist reminiscent of Ingrid Michaelson and Cat Powers.
