Elaine served in the medical section of the U.S. Army, and later worked in the field of public health. Now retired, she has taken up writing children's stories and poetry. She has received one first and second prize in the National Veterans' Creative Arts contest, as well as nine more in state events. Her writings capture the spectactular beauty of Alaska and reflect her love of animals,flying and the wonderment of life.
She is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the 49th Military Police Brigade (Alaska State Defense Force), and a member of the 99's, an international women's flying organization. She and her doggie Zsa Zsa live in Wasilla, Alaska.
