Album Notes

"Pump It Up" - Like a poor woman's Petra Haden, Justin from Elastic No-No Band multi-tracks his voice to act as his own backing band during his version of this popular favorite.

"You Belong To Me" - A noisy lo-fi take on this oft-forgotten gem from the THIS YEAR'S MODEL album.

"Monkey To Man" - A stripped-down acoustic version of Elvis Costello's sequel to Dave Bartholomew's song "The Monkey." One such primate ponders humanity's cruel follies in this pointedly satirical piece.

"Battered Old Bird" - Have you ever sung in the shower, liked it, and wondered if it would sound as good on a recording? Well, here is one such experiment.

"Toledo" - Justin from Elastic No-No Band is from Toledo, Ohio, so this song has a particularly fond place in his heart. Where Elvis and Burt Bacharach's version was decidedly classic-pop in nature and stuffed with string sections, ENB's take features overdriven guitar, synth parts and drum loops.

"High Fidelity" - Presented in low fidelity.

"I Want You" - Elvis's classic poison pen letter to a lost (or nearly lost) love is given a 90s-style trip-hop makeover that suits the material just fine.
