This is about the sadness that awakens your heart in the middle of the night. It’s about those delectable moments with lovers you hope will never fade. It’s about the time your teacher gave you a failing grade. It brings out those memories that are heightened by your sense of smell. It touches every nerve you’ve tried to kill with a bottle of booze or pills. It's as honest as a 2-year-old, yet as corrupt as a politician. It’s about sitting on a dock with a great friend as you talk your soul into the pond. It’s the refreshing taste of an ice-cold cola on a hot summer’s day. It's the dying of the leaves in the fall. It’s the flowers that bloom their brightest colors in the spring. It’s those cold winter nights that chill you to the bone.

The Elated Sob Story is about as lo-fi as one could get. It was started in Star's tiny bedroom back in 2005. The music is done on a cheap recorder in a bedroom, away from those who might hear the softness of her voice that she hasn’t quite learned how to use yet.
