Album Notes

Hi, you have come to the The Electric Era. That's my band. It could be called anything else, but I called it The Electric Era. I held a bit of a survey over the band name and this particular name did not come out on top, but I chose it anyway, because I don't like surveys.

I like music and I like making it. As far as I am concerned, that sums it up. I have made songs ever since I learnt my second guitar chord, and making songs was the reason for learning that second chord. It was very exciting, that second chord, I think it was G major, but I could be wrong.

So here I am. They gave me this page to promote my music. I'd love you to hear my music, but I'm not about to stick it in your face. I should really pay one of those marketing hacks to do it for me. Initially I thought marketing my music would be as cool as making it, and I would run a record label in no time, but I hate spending time greasing the marketing machine that I could use smithing tunes or playing with lego. And the world is far too noisy as it is. So this is about as far as it gets. It will have to do. Read the influences, don't expect any Rawk or R'n'B overtones, and if anyone asks I'm in the studio, working on another album.

Nice meeting you, enjoy the tunes. You might want to leave a comment on my website, cause I'd love that.

'A Little Less Gravity' was written, peformed, arranged, programmed, recorded and produced by New Zealand musician Karsten Schwardt and released on Easter Sunday 2008. Brignall Wood contributed drums and additional backing vocals and guitars.

Here are some artists The Electric Era have been compared to:
THE PIXIES - THE CURE - THE CHILLS - THE ARCADE FIRE - THE SMITHS - (early) ULTRAVOX - JOY DIVISION - THE STAIRS - DAVID BOWIE (Berlin-Era)
