Album Notes

Musician/songwriter Elgin Wells is a familiar face on the Atlanta, GA music scene, and he is currently completing his twelfth album of original songs. From Georgia State vocal singing champion in his High School years, Elgin has emerged as Georgia's most promising Jazz/Blues artist, winning the New South Music Award for "Best Jazz Band," and producing twelve original albums of music since 1980.

In the past Elgin has been featured with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra and touring Australia as featured vocalist with the "Daly-Wilson Big Band." Elgin regularly plays benefit concerts for Easter Seals, The American Cancer Society, Leukemia Society, The Council For Children and others. Lately, he has performed with his own band, The Elgin Wells Group, in Atlanta and throughout the Southeast.

An accomplished vocalist, songwriter (he has won six Billboard Songwriting Contest Awards) and multi-instrumentalist, Elgin plays more than 20 instruments, covering most of the string, brass, woodwind and reed families, along with a few exotic ethnic instruments (like Japanese Shakuhachi and Irish pennywhistle). Although Elgin composes and arranges at the keyboard, he is known especially for his string playing. He designs and crafts his own violins and electric guitars, and he is a pioneer in stringed instrument physics and design.

A second-generation Aviator, Elgin is a veteran Airshow Pilot, a Champion Aerobatic competitor, and he performs his spectacular stunt flying for 3-4 million people annually, always flying to the accompaniment of his own musical recordings

Marvellous CD! I'm really glad I listened some samples at CD BABY and decided to buy it. Some titles are just genius. For sure the best CD I bought in the last couple of months and rest assured: I buy a lot of CD's! If you've got a Rock 'n Roll Soul with a touch of blues and jazz this CD is a must have!

Didn't absolutely love every cut, but good to hear Elgin again.

A couple of good songs on this CD, but skipped over a couple that lagged for my taste. Will try one of the live recordings to recapture my recollection of Elgin's performances in the 80's at Ray's and Chequer's. Would like to purchase the instrumental one soon, too.
