Album Notes

"The music reminds me more than just a little of Norah Jones- the relaxed softness to her voice and music, the easy transitions from jazz to country flavors...but the thing that really stands out to me in Elisabeth's music is that each jewel of a song has a lovely and sincere sweetness in quality, which always shines through"
-Mary Golnick, Victory Music Review
As a child, Elisabeth Rose would often wander off in the woods for hours and hours just thinking and singing and climbing trees ("Little One"). At fourteen, she started to dream about traveling the world, playing guitar, and singing songs even though she had never wrote a song or touched a guitar. This adventurous spirit took her to Australia on an exchange program where she gathered numerous experiences.
Shortly after returning, she was given a classical guitar by Leroy, a good friend from church, and thus began her song-writing days at 16 (starting with "Boomerang"). Throughout her senior year, Elisabeth worked in a little coffee stand north of Seattle, Washington. Here she wrote many songs and often played them for customers. After high school she traveled around Canada and South Africa eventually ending up in Nashville to record her first album.
After signing with Malamute Records in the fall of 2007, Beth released "Leave Your Shoes" available at malamuterecords.com, and right here on CD baby under the name Beth Whitney.

This is an artist who gets it!

It is rare to find a work as perfectly balanced as "Mud, Rock and Clay". Understated, yet brimming with passion, Rose has created an album that demonstrates the best of what contemporary folk should be. It is extremely well-produced; the songs and her performance take center stage. And oh, the songs! I loved them all, but "Cloak" is an absolute masterpiece. I can, and have listened to this CD over and over and over ... I'll stand in line to get the next Elisabeth Rose album.

Brilliant.......a star in the making.
author: Corey Lambert
Elisabeth Rose’s songs have a mystical calmness to them. Her lyrics also have a magical way of making you fall in love all over again with music. Her songs have a way of hitting with all the emotions known to mankind leaving you spent but wanting more. All in all I personally think she is already a star. It’s just a matter of time before this rising star will shine bright enough to make the entire planet see this amazing new artist.
