Album Notes

This cd came about after 27 performances of this program touring around France over the past year and a half. We chose the music that spoke to what we wanted to communicate about love and nature. The Strauss "Mädchenblumen" or "Flower girls" are surprisingly not well-known and are performed relatively infrequently. Each of these songs compares a girl to a flower and we have been moved to see the impact they have had on our audiences - including 7 year old French children!

"Quand la nature songe à l'amour" is a tribute to love, to yearning, to flowers, to plants, to the sea.
