AMAZING
author: Patrick Horan
After buying this CD at an E.L.K. concert from Elaine, I haven't been able to stop listening to it. I'm listening to it in the car, in school when I can, everywhere. It is the most inspiring, uplifting music I've heard. The songs grab you and carry you to places you can't imagine. They carry you to a place that is better, happier. It speaks of simple times, like how love is all you need to be free. It is a CD that will affect you from the first note of "Home" straight through the closing part of "Say Goodnight" I'm just so glad that these three people came together. Individually they are wonderful, but together they are truly beautiful!

Transcendent Harmonies, Inspiring Lyricss...A True Gem
author: John Ince
In a world where mediocre musicians are often overhyped, by overly aggressive and overpaid publicists, it's a rare pleasure to discover a truly talented group that is spending more time and energy, creating and playing than promoting. The "Live simple, Breathe Deep" CD by Elaine Lambert and Karl is the genuine article. It lives up to
it's name. Their beautifully crafted lyrics and transcendent harmonies make "breathing in deeply" a natural and effortless process.
What you have in this CD is the pure, unadulterated sweetness of sound by three truly dedicated musicians: Elaine Dempsey, L.E. Lambert and Karl Werne. They remain
uncorrupted by the trappings of the music business, and emote an energy that simply makes you feel good about yourself and this world.
There isn't a weak cut on the album. Every one is a gem. Several of the cuts like "Find Joy" and the title track "Live Simple, Breathe Deep" accomplish what only the very best artists amongst us accomplish in out peak moments: they bring us in touch with the larger truths -and reminds us of what is really important in our existence. "Ready to Fly" is a beautiful rendition of Greg
Beattie's elegiac song about a resident in a retirement community, preparing psychologically to die. "Beggar's Audience" written by Elaine Dempsey and sung by Lambert is a moving tribute to grittiness in the midst of chilling reality. Others cuts like "La La Land, and "After This" are simply enjoyable listening-with a lilt to lift the
spirits.
All three are gifted musicians, and on several of the cuts their harmonies approach transcendent levels beauty. To call the CD inspiring would not be overstatement. If we existed in a world of musical justice, it would be Elaine, Lambert and Karl, who would be at the top of the charts, instead of the sort of flack and fluff that too often degrades the standards by which we judge good music.
