Album Notes

Ethan Elkind grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, learning to play music first on the saxophone and then on the piano and the guitar. He writes primarily acoustic guitar-based songs that emphasize personal themes with folk-pop style. He counts as his influences Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Jack Johnson, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix.

He released the album "A Locked Box of Treasure" in 1999 on Hitman Records. He recorded the guitar and vocal part together in a "live" setting and then adding on additional guitar, bass and some percussion to the tracks. The songs represent stories from his life during the 1990s and contain diverse themes of past relationships, historical fiction, political revival and friendship. He has been playing these songs live in small venues throughout California since the release of the CD.

His second CD, "Tales From California," was released in the fall of 2006. He currently makes his home in Santa Monica, California.
