Album Notes

Ellen started singing with rock bands at the age of 15 in Bristol, England, and has more recently performed in a Connecticut based rock band (Tin Roof), country band (The Black Moon Band) and as a solo acoustic artist. She knows how to sing pretty and how to belt in the best angry-girl tradition, her voice often being compared to that of Pat Benetar or Melissa Etheridge. She can currently be found rockin' Connecticut clubs with THE BIRD'N'BOYS, whose three other members (Mike Finer on lead guitar, Tommy Wilson on bass and Mikey Posser on drums) contributed their talent to the original cd “Movin’ On”.

REVIEWS

Consistantly great
author: Steven Sackman
Yes, I could be accused of bias, but as a musician myself, I find this collection of new songs very powerful. Most of the time, an album will contain a few 'keepers' supplemented by some 'ho-hum' takes. This CD, though, contains 10 solid songs - each one stands on it's own, each is a 'keeper', and together they demonstrate a breadth of talent that isn't often seen. Ellen, your skill as a songwriter is a true gift, and your voice is consistantly lush and powerful. And wherever did you get your ear for harmony - wow! Finally, I've had the privilege of seeing your kick-a~~ band in person. Mike, your guitar riffs are amazing. Tommy, your bass and vocal contributions are perfect. And Mikey - how do you do what you do and look so smooth doing it?!?! I have followed Ellen's musical growth since we used to sing 'You Got a Friend' together in Bristol. You have brought it all together here, and then some. For a collection of intense rock and lush ballads - all born of personal experience - I can't recommend this CD enough. Bravo!
