Album Notes

ellie james

....is an alterna-pop rock artist based in Vancouver, Canada.

Her influences include Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, Pink, Ella Fitzgerald, Evanescence, Bad Religion and The Beatles.

Ellie James’ debut album “11” is an exploration of her evolution over the last 11 years. It is an atypical album in the pop rock vein with straightforward melodies and diverse lyrics ranging in theme from relationships to the more esoteric elements of life. For many years she has been intrigued by the magical ability of music to manifest itself and how what we sing and say essentially influences what we eventually experience in life.

Though trained vocally in both jazz and classical, her real love lies in rock and radio. Ellie has been writing tunes for well over 13 years but it wasn’t until she met her producer Doug Naugler, that she decided to do something with her songs. “Doug was "instrumental" in bringing the album to life and his programming and production talent is evident through out the entire CD.”

So what led her to the artistic path? “I truly believe as human beings we are all creators and destroyers. Our choices each and every moment, determines how not only our own lives will be affected and experienced, but the lives of everyone else on this planet. To me, music is one of the most powerful vehicles to connect the collective. It has always been the most influential art form for me and writing songs is the part I want to play in this grand production called life.”
