ELMER CREEL

Elmer Creel hails from Bogalusa, a rural city in Louisiana. Growing up in the South has given him a lot of country and gospel flavor. He is inspired by some country greats like Alan Jackson, Meryl Haggard and Hank Williams Sr., but his all-time favorite country performer is Conway Twitty, of "Knock Your Socks Off" and "Hello Darlin'" fame.
Elmer has had the desire to sing in his heart from the time he was a young boy. He worked hard to cultivate his strong country sound, laced with a taste of gospel. Elmer's father was a Baptist preacher, who, along with his mother, encouraged him to go after his dream of becoming a country artist.
The title song of the CD, She Never Came Home, written by Marlena and Herschel Dwellingham Sr., sends a powerful message. The song addresses the fact that, for the first time, our women in the Armed Forces are sacrificing their lives for our country in significant numbers. Elmer is a family man with six children. A few years ago, he was caught in an oil spill, then Hurricane Katrina, and survived then both, the Come Back Kid, as it were. In pursuit of his dream, Elmer started his own record company, Creel Records, and has already started work on his next project, and hopes to complete a Christmas CD in the coming year.
Elmer hopes She Never Came Home will make an impact in the world and go to great heights. He has put together a hot, smokin' country and western band and plans to tour the country. Elmer has a rich, earthy, strong country sound, so be looking and listening for Elmer Creel now and in the future. This country singer is going places, on his way to the top!
