ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Joe Elmo is a guitarist a singer songwriter and performer. Equally comfortable playing electric or acoustic music and creates improvisational jazz funk and rock and acoustic ballads, In addition to writing, arranging and producing his own original music Joe’s earliest influences, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, ELP and John Lennon motivated his songwriting and guitar playing. Other influences include Charlie Parker, Django Reinhardt and Jean Luc Ponty giving his music the Jazz influences you can still hear in his playing style today. His lyrics are poetic and captivating, yet speak to the common man and the human experience.

Soon after picking up the guitar he began writing song’s and never looked back. These early compositions led to a songwriting collaboration with his childhood friend George Price. Together they formed Idol Hands to showcase and perform their music. Idol Hands became the quintessential original band, playing their own music, their own way. Crowds responded enthusiastically. The band built a following in an around the Metropolitan area. They played clubs such as Kenny’s Castaway’s in New York City, Tinker Street Café in Woodstock and Studio One in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Joe Elmo recorded a CD titled (Reality Travels In A Melody) , on which Joe Elmo co produced, his original material. with Dean Bailin at 4 Cat Studio in NYC. Joe has been performing with his band and solo in and around the Metropolitan area. His songwriting and arranging continues to grow

His song Broken Promise is being played on www.nativeradio.com in rotation it can also be heard on ww.myspace.com/joeelmo it is one of the songs on the CD..Reality Travels In Melody also his music is being played on The Rockade and NPR
The Upper Room

Joe Elmo possesses one of those rare and magical talents in a guitarist. He enjoys using high-speed complicated riffs as much as sweet minor chords which evoke only a gentle breath of emotion. He can take you on an intricate energetic journey like “Checkpoint”, or he can leave you feeling you too are moving on in life, like the sadly romantic “Life Goes On”. In any case, Joe Elmo is clearly a songwriter with the ability to move his listener.
