Elnora & Sumpthin' Cookin' has consistantly been rated as one of Southern California's "Best Unsigned Blues Bands".
Pretty cool considering we all played in different bands and Elnora found us by way of Karaoke and a Pro Blues jam!
Not your typical one, four, five, they cross the spectrum playing many of the different styles spawned by this great American artform. A little Swing, Jump, Boogie, Motown, Jazz, Old School Rock and R & B makes this CD one you will keep in rotation for a long time.
Formed in November of 2002, They have performed at many venues From Playboy Jazz Festival and Newport Blues Festival to local clubs such as B.B. King's-Hollywood, The Blue Cafe, Cozy's, Harvelle's, Martini Blues, Stubrick's (Fullerton & Mission Viejo), MaHe's, Buster's Beach House and many more.
Our bandmate, friend, husband, father and musical genius "The Professor" Steve Solomon passed away last year.
This CD is the only recording with this fine man's son Evan (on Baritone Sax). The Horn arrangements, Sax solo's, Piano and Hammond Organ are all Steve. WE MISS YOU!

Rare & Well Done!

This is one tight band. I saw them live and they're even better than the CD. The CD is terrific. I think it's a mix Blues, Jazz and 60's R&B, which is wonderful to listen to. I hate it when every song seems the same, don't you? And there's not a bad one in the bunch. Some of the songs get stuck in your head, though....like "Sick & Tired".
The live show was really upbeat and energetic. Elnora has tons of stage presence and my girlfriend's making me go see them again (an easy sell)! I don't recommend many CD's, but this one's definately worth it.

This is a GREAT Disc!

This CD has been one of my favorites now and gets alot of play in my car. It has swing, blues, jazz, and I just know the band is really tight and the music is really wonderful. I don't think it's all blues, but they don't say it is, but it's mostly upbeat, kinda 50's/60's rock/blues/jazz. You poor, poor babies should check this one out!
