"Blues with its mind blown." John Rodat, Metroland Magazine Hick Meditations is Mitch Elrod's(spelrod)truly first solo recording (he has other recordings within a band context). This is Elrod alone with only voice and guitar to pound out music like you've never heard. Elrod recorded this music in the comfort of his home, mostly in the morning, and is part of an ongoing series of recordings called The Wordling Series. The voice is explored in depth. Spontaneous words and spontaneous vocal sounds are blended together to create unabashed improvs full of sacred intention and profane intention.
