    with zz top's lineup and beefheart's ear for tones, Mitch elrod and the Hick Engine Ears deliver high quality, distinctly american song-craft, merged with all out experimentation. Turnin In Low is a dark churning water, all odd-time and snap-jerk; Feather Curves Her landscape bobs and struts, she was raised by wolves is all out satan blues, with maniac elrod at the wheel and the band crashing behind him. An album well worth my dollars, and strongly recommended to you all.
