ELU’s \'Beautiful Things\' is, well.. a beautiful thing.
Just released after many many moons of hard work and dedication by Jeff Mettling, Dee Gonzales and the ELU band: \"Beautiful Things\". GRAB THIS NOW. Don\'t wait, don\'t even stop for a second to think about it. Jeff handed me this CD over lunch one day, and it\'s been running in my Pod, in the car, and in my head on continuous play since then.

ELU takes their sound to the next level on \"Beautiful Things\" - a seamless mix of pop/electronic ear candy that offers up quite a few gems and features not only some skillful musicianship but also a group of mesmerizing female vocalists: DeAnn Gonzales, Virginia Olivas, Kate Benton, Rena Maestas and Rebecca Moore. DeAnn also contributes Bass Guitar, with Julian Rivera playing keyboards and sequences. Jeff Mettling pulls it all together into what - in my opinion - is a band at the forefront of music\'s evolution.

The sound is more than a slight departure from ELU\'s earlier works, and you\'ll definitely hear the pop influence on several of the tracks, most notably the title track. What\'s so captivating here is the way the band integrates pop, rock, electronic and new age in such a natural and complementary way.

ELU has put so much of themselves into \"Beautiful Things\" - a true blood, sweat and tears triumph. This band doesn\'t do anything unless it\'s done RIGHT (listen to their music and check out their videos if you have any doubt of that). That could - at least partially - be why this album has taken so long to see the light of day. With \"Beautiful Things\", ELU hands us what truly is a part of their personal existence: track after track of passion and raw emotion that\'s consecrated through their perseverance and desire to be nothing more than who they are: a group of talented and creative musicians. And they do it very well.
