DramaBoy Music, the Brooklyn-based independent record label, presents Elucid and his debut album "The Bible And The Gun". No, he's not a Blood or a Crip and he ain't spittin' that gangsta shit...he's just an angry Black man strapped with 21 guns who happens to be pissed off at society and needs to ventilate. Lucky for us he has a gift with words that surpasses the amount of firepower in his arsenal. Death to all fake gangstas!!! Elucid kicks the hardcore truth about life in The NYC and AmeriKKKa in general from the good times, to the bad, down to the muthafukkin' grimey. It's only a matter of time before the Brooklyn MC gets too big for the streets and gets signed to a major label where they'll probably try to force him to wear shiny clothes and sing duets with R & B bitches. But this cat is so real I just can't imagine him allowing that to happen. Elucid "The Bible And The Gun" is an album that should be a part of your CD collection if you're a real hip-hop fan. Plain and simple.

This album is the TRUTH. The emcee is holding it down, but the beats are down right ridiculous. The album title fits the album perfectly, because he is spitting the street from an educated point of veiw. But the producers shine in this album with both raw and clubby material you can vibe at home, bump in the whip, or hear in the club. Especially that track Rush, that joint is bananas! The only flaw on this album is the songs dont really flow together, its like 12 random songs put in an album. Maybe I just can't deal with him switching genres like that, I guess that is my own flaw. There is only one track on here I don't like. The rest are straight heat! H.M. repping that Dirty Jersey. One.

a PRO among novices

Why a label has not picked this cat up is hard to understand. Elucid has the style, flow and most importantly LYRICS that puts him well ahead of most underground MC's. Named "The Bible and the Gun" it is titled well as Elucid combines his soul with the streets. While this is a idea that many try, Elucid is quiet simply better then most. This album is not without flaws. The beats while solid do not always hold up with the powerful MC. Some of the hooks are down right annoying. Still I absolutely recommend this album. It will be money well spent and hopefully we will be investing in Elucid's next project. In a world where rappers who have no business touching a microphone rule the airwaves we got to support talent when it tries to shine!!

From one pissed off artist with lyrical skills to another - your sounds snippets are off the hook HOT! I hope this CD is back in stock soon because as soon as it is, I'm at it and I'm gonna tell all my folks to do the same. Those who haven't checked this cat out are missin' out. Fa real.
