This new wave of worship songs mixes Christian Pop/Rock with soulful surrender. The songs are real and uncontrived, providing comfort and promoting a sincere discussion between the listener and God. Leading others to worship God with a sincere and open heart has become Elva Frye's main desire. "Something deep within our hearts happens when we become vulnerable to God. We are able to sing out a song with everything we have. Worship is not music; it is the position and purposeful intention of a surrendered heart. Unless we are willing to be vulnerable to God, I think we leave a wall up in our hearts. In order to worship God in sincerity, we need to have the attitude of, "Lord- I need your help to worship You. I want to surrender, let You in, and pour out myself before You." For someone who doesn't know Jesus, it may be difficult to understand what people are doing when they do worship in song. One might be looking in from the outside and wonder about what it is people who love God have: They may even want it. Until we surrender to Him, we can't know the joy and freedom we experience when we worship God in Spirit and in Truth. My hope as a worship leader is to remove the distractions, take a person by the hand, and say, "Come with me, let's sit at the feet of Jesus together. I don’t want anyone to miss out on what God has for them. I especially love leading worship with my husband, Brian, as there is a complete-ness aspect. I smile as I say this. We spur one another on as we encourage those around us." "

Her Influences include Keith Green, Micheal W. Smith, Nicole Nordeman, and Delirious. Elva Frye's purpose in life is not to make her music the center of attention, but to make God the center of attention through her raw, sincere, and heartfelt songs. She longs for God to bring the broken-hearted comfort, the joyful - a new song to sing, and the prodigals - a song that will lead them home.

Elva and her husband led worship at Calvary Chapel San Francisco (2000-04) and now in SoCal at Calvary Chapel Beach Cities and Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, as well as Women's Retreats (Often with her mother, Elva Diaz), Special Events, Memorial Services, and Church Conferences. From Elva, "I have asked the Lord to include me in His plan for this world. What might He want to accomplish, and how can I fit in? Whatever it is, I've asked and keep asking, "Lord, please, please include me! I'll go anywhere He asks me to go, and do anything He asks me to. I pray for the strength to continue in that!"

More About Elva
Elva Frye was born and raised in a family of musicians. Mom, Elva Diaz, a Christian Spanish/English singer/songwriter recording artist, worship leader, and guitarist. She and her brothers sang with their mother. The family of five toured the country in many different vehicles, but most notable: a tour bus and a Volkswagon beetle. Elva began playing piano at age five, and began writing songs at age 12. At age 11, she played the piano for her "pastor dad's" church worship team with her mother until she was 18.

In college, Elva played at a few different open mic nights and talent contests, but found her true calling after meeting her, now husband, Brian. Music had become unimportant in college, but the fire was rekindled after she played at a Calvary Chapel Cafe Open Mic Night. When she married, they began leading worship together at Calvary Chapel San Francisco.

A MESSAGE FROM ELVA:
Phillippians 1:3;6:3- I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

If we allow God to begin a work in our hearts, He will finish that work. It is no coincidence who we meet in life, and what we hear, read, or come to know, if we allow God to work it all out in our lives, we will see His purposes made clear in every facet of our lives and those around us.

May our lives be that which God uses to bring about His Love, His Joy, and His peace to the lives of those around us. May He bring us individually: His discipline, His correction, His loving rebuke, that we might be changed by Him to be used by Him. So that, those around us, might know Him by how He loves them through us. It all comes down to knowing Him through Jesus, the only name under heaven by which men can be saved. May you be filled with that hope in Jesus today.
