Album Notes

Emerald Isle brings together Tom Rowley on guitar and Renee Wood on tin whistle to create an exciting new sound in traditional Irish dance music.

Tom and Renee have been playing traditional Irish music for years, but with their love of all kinds of music and their experience in the world of jazz and rock, they bring a truly unique set of musical skills to the playing of Irish dance music. Sometimes traditional, sometimes not, Emerald Isle's music is full of unexpected departures into delightful and surprising musical territory. Their repertoire of spirited jigs and hornpipes, driving, go-for-broke reels, and heartbreaking aires, includes many rarely heard gems.

Musical partners in the truest sense of the word, Tom and Renee's deep emotional connection to the music and the strength of their friendship brings a special warmth and energy to their playing.
