Album Notes

Singer, producer, dj, engineer, artist, musician, composer, and remixer – some are easy to label and some go into all of the above. Welcome to the world of astro-sound-naught label evasive, Emeson.

Self-taught on some things and world thoughtful on most.

His early memories of music include hanging out with his father ,playing eight-track cartridges in his dad\'s Volkswagen Hatchback and listening to the sound systems along the streets on summer days, listening to music as varied as Jimmy Cliff, the Upsetters, Pioneers and James Brown right through to Don Williams, Booker T & the MG’s, The Beatles and Miles Davis.

Emeson first appeared sonically as an original member of the group Lifesize, alongside producer/singer-songwriter Uzo Madu (Beya Records) and jazz/soul session musician Chris Jerome (Julian Joseph, Courtney Pine) contributing writing and performing on tracks such as \'Awake\' and \'Is This The World We Live In\'(Gangster Records)

In-between all this Emeson would dj at various spots and promote his own themed nights. Over the years as a dj he has been a dj resident and guest in many quarters alongside \'keepers of the sound\' Bobby & Steve, Norman Jay, Touch of Class, Mark One and many other dj luminaries in venues such as Iceni, Hanover Grand, Starlight, The Spot, Q-Bar, 10-Rooms, Sssh Rooms to name but a few.
Other sonic stints include featuring on tracks for Birth of Mankind (Without You) and DJ Fly (Lyin\' & Cheatin\') whilst writing music for short films such as \'A Look To Kill’, Madame & the Census Man(directed by film producer, editor and writer Obinna Nwosu)

The Bittersoul EP (2004), Audiocentricities download album (2006) and this years’ Connect EP and Equilibrium were all born within his Lab Soulphonica hideout.

These excursions have led emeson to produce, guest, remix, feature and write for artists such as Peter Gabriel - Shock the Monkey Remix, Mark De Clive-Lowe - Day by Day(Invitation Remix), Chico Hamilton - Language Universal, Mariu - Venezuela, Eugenia, Yamasaki - Something Deeper & one of Spain’s finest, Karma Sound on Mahe’

Inspiration for his music & lyrics come from some of his own personal experiences, past, present and dreams of the future. These thoughts, dreams, experiences lead us to Emeson’s Equilibrium.
The fourth instalment from the belly of Emeson\'s Lab Soulphonica studio.

Equilibrium is sonic electronica, avant garde soul fused with retro future thought and ensemble.
Space soundscapes meet world fate in a quest for calm and balance.
A-Space and B-Earth - visions of a better place, decisions on a present place, searching for a calmer space.
Featuring Emeson on all instruments and vocals, this is music not only for our time, but for all time.
This is Equilibrium.

there is cacophony and there is silence and inbetween Emeson harnesses the mellifluous. edgy, distinctive, deep and soulful. this is modern love, modern philosophy and infinite spirituality held together by reckless basslines and irreverent rhythms and melodies. 'hey there' is the shining beacon beyond the stars and Equilibrium is a hey there! wake up call to new reality.
