Coming from a classical background - she studied classical piano at the Conservatory of Bologna - Emilia's interest for jazz started while she was studying German in Berlin and soon evolved into an abiding passion.

Attracted by the stimulating Dutch jazz scene she moved to Holland in the early '90s. InThe Hague she studied jazz singing with Susanne Abbuehl and Jeanne Lee and she has been performing with pianist Augusto Pirodda and trumpet player Victor Borkent's octet “Vic's!” and Big Band “Straight Life”.

Her repertoire ranges from the well-known American jazz standards to the songs of the “canzone italiana” written by Italian singer songwriters (also known as “cantautori”) from the '50s to the present day.

In her last cd: “Whatever possessed me” (2008) she displays her qualities of versatile singer, accompanied by a team of top musicians; to name a few: Augusto Pirodda, Manolo Cabras and Marek Patrman.
