ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Her fans have said that she reminds them of a combination of Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson, but she draws from so much more. As she was growing up, her house was filled with a wide variety of music including the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Norah Jones, and Bob Dylan. Soon she was discovering her own influences in artists like Adele, Belle and Sebastian, Jack Johnson, and Death Cab for Cutie and mixing them with her early influences to create her own pop/rock songs ranging from bouncy to edgy. While her strong vocals are definitely the first thing that will captivate you, her catchy music and intelligent lyrics will show the depth of her songwriting abilities. Emilie’s voice, piano, and songwriting are the focus here, with a strong band providing a variety of textures behind her – from a haunting slide guitar to a rhythm groove banged out on a wine bottle, a potato peeler and a waffle iron.
