Singer/Songwriter/Producer, Emily Rey is one musical artist who’s lifelong dream is to reach people through her music. Simple and sweet, yet subtle and powerful, a blend that leads to a pleasant journey of ten heartfelt and potent songs about love and life in her debut album, Let Me. With the influences and combination of pop, rock, alternative, R&B and hip-hop, her sound is main stream.
On January 2004, the first single “Let Me Be” was released in the Philippines on Jam 88.3FM radio station and became one of the most requested songs within its 2nd month of airplay. The second single “The Reason”, while used as the theme song in GMA7’s popular youth oriented series CLICK, earned heavy rotations at the country’s other top radio stations. The song has also become a phenomenon reaching Top 3 and remained at top ten of the most downloadable Ringbacktone hits for Globe since April that year.
Emily Rey has been making waves in Manila’s music scene through her well received live broadcast radio performances such as Magic 89.9FM’s Tunog-Kalye and Live na Live, WLS 97.1FM’s Symme3 concert (performing with the country’s top artist such as Paolo Santos, Nina, Nyoy Volante, Kitchie Nadal and MYMP), and JAM 88.3FM’s Jam Sessions, mall and bar tours around Metro Manila. The Manila Times ran an article on her and quoted her as an ‘original’ artist. Manila’s music magazines such as Music Channel, Popsicle and Pulp compared her to Michelle Branch and Dido.
Most recently in the U.S., her current song “Nowhere Around” was featured at CBS TV hit series starring Jennifer-Love Hewitt the “Ghost Whisperer”. Her song “Lies” is also getting a regular spin at the online radio www.AmericanIdolUnderground.com. She has been featured at www.pinoyzone.com, www.pinoyradio.com, and most recently her website as site of the month at www.philradio.com. Her cd is available online and for downloads at www.cdbaby.com, www.towerrecords.com, www.eplanetpinoy.com, www.bestbuy.com, yahoomusic online and iTunes to name a few.
