Album Notes
I grew up in a household of musicians. My parents being professional musicians had me begin studio work at a young age as well as give me many opportunities to take lessons from seasoned artists in dance, voice, flute and piano. Now with the school years behind I started in missions and found myself constantly going back to my music roots. In December 2002 three days after I graduated from the School of Biblical Studies in Capetown, South Africa, I wrote, produced, and recorded my first CD "Playtime". It has 15 original tracks, with two songs from guest artists ranging from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Congo and Angola.

After helping to pioneer the first ever School of Worship April 2003 in West Africa by being a student/staff, I was able to train and teach in music and leadership.

Now back in the USA starting to get music out there and always writing new songs and poetry. Drop me a line sometime or check out my myspace page. www.myspace.com/emilyrskinner

Hope you enjoy the music~

From the Heart
Emily has composed an eclectic cd for worship. She writes in a way that brings the listener into her thoughts as she expresses her love for the Lord and her search for His truths. Obviously, she has been influenced by world music such as African tribal but she never tries to sell out to it. It's as if she allows herself to be in the flow and she surrenders to the artistic process without it being a commercialized sound or a departure from worship. This is well worth the purchase. Keep your eyes and ears open. You will be hearing more from Emily Skinner in the coming years. I hope you are as touched and blessed as I was.
Thanks, Emily
