Album Notes

A coal miner's daughter. No really, I wouldn't lie about it-and, while we're on the subject, lets be sure to remember that the reality of being a coal miner's daughter is pretty much only single thing that might be considered any type of a connection or likeness to that of Loretta Lynn herself.

Emily was born and raised in southwestern Indiana eating homegrown vegetables and playing endless hours of basketball just like everyone in Indiana is required to do by state law. After her WNBA dreams were crushed when cut from the basketball team in seventh grade, Emily pulled herself up from despondency and found comfort in music.

Releasing her first album "Coming from the Dark" in 2000, Emily continues to write and perform original music. Working on her second album, she hopes to continue to pull in audiences with her sparkling personality and sharp wit.

Working with Emily on the album is her percussionist Paul McDonald who always adds a wonderful edge and presence to her music. Nothing compares to Emily's live performances, but this CD is the next best thing.

Sessions from her couch

I remember listening to Emily play 'I just do' in her house at BSU. She was amazing. She was also one of the coolest people I have ever met, and still is. I am so pumped to have this CD and be able to listen to her songs. It brings back a lot of good memories. She is awesome. I hope she puts out another CD soon.
