Album Notes

Emerald Rose is a high energy Celtic folk rock band that blends harmony vocals, pennywhistle, world percussion and driving guitars and bass. Their music ranges from traditional jigs and reels to original folk rock and pop songs. Emerald Rose successfully draws from Celtic myth and legend to create a unique and accessible sound. As a group of full-time musicians, Emerald Rose is frequently touring in support of their CD catalog, including their latest "Fire in the Head-Emerald Rose Live."
With their self-title debut CD in 1998, Emerald Rose began a tradition of including a variety of songs and musical styles on their CDs ranging from traditional Celtic to hard-driving original folk rock to melodious ballads. Their critically acclaimed and aptly named "Bending Tradition" CD was released in 2000 and contains the mp3.com Spiritual Pop Chart sensation, "Freya Shakti."
Emerald Rose has performed at a variety of venues and events including: The Atlanta Montreaux Music Festival, Roswell's "Concert on the Square," Dragon*Con (the largest science fiction convention in the Southeast), Atlanta Celtic Festival, Eddie's Attic, Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, New College in Sarasota, and I*Con in New York City. The band has also played for audiences across the Southeast in various concert halls and pubs in Georgia, Alabama and Florida as well as the New York/New Jersey area.

I found this band trough the Irish and Celtic music podcast and was completely in the mood by the song "Come to the Dance". Being a fan of celtic music in every form of it, also celtic rock, and being more of a pagan, I immediatly liked it and searched for more. I do not regret buying the album.
