Enation: An Overview of Their Experience So Far
Enation is fast becoming known as one of the best independent anthemic rock bands around, combining the expanse and creativity of U2 and Radiohead with the wit and soul lyrically of songwriters in the spirit of Dylan and Cash. Enation has grown in the six years since forming in 2002, taking the pure passion they have always possessed and combining it with the maturity to know that a whisper can also be as loud as a shout.
Enation has headlined shows at the world famous Whisky A-Go-Go and The Troubadour (among many other renowned clubs), and has built an international fan base selling thousands of albums at home and abroad, most recently being prominently featured on the hit CW TV show "One Tree Hill" with the title track from their new album "World In Flight" being played on the show as well as the song and collaborative EP "Feel This" (performed by Bethany Joy Galeotti featuring Enation). "Feel This" had an immediate response: the single went to #8 on the I-Tunes Rock Charts, and the EP debuted #1 on the CD Baby Top Sellers list (one of the largest independent music outlets in the world.) The TV episode itself also hit the #1 spot on I-tunes -- all of this bringing a host of new fans and great reviews in for the band. Enation has had several other songs used in TV & Films, most notably the song "Ride" from "Stephen King's Riding The Bullet", which got the song featured on MTV.com.
Enation has been a long time CDBaby artist, having held 5 out of the Top 10 songs on the CDBaby Rock charts at one time, and having multiple albums go to #1 on their respective national charts. Enation was also one of the few artists to be invited to perform and represent CDBaby at the International Folk Alliance 2010, as well as being asked to donate the song "Eyes of Grace" (from the album 'World In Flight') to the national CDBaby benefit CD to help the victims of the recent Haiti earthquake.
"CDBaby is an incredible vehicle for independent bands like us," drummer Richard Lee has said. "They create a plethora of opportunities that give us the ability to function much like a major label would, with the total freedom that comes with being independent. We're big fans of CDBaby and what they've done for independent artists like us." Enation's anthemic rock continues to inspire and captivate those who hear it, and if the beginning of their tale is any indication, we are still only on Chapter One.
"Enation have more talent than England has rain. Have you got an umbrella?"

(Soul & Story: Volume One)
It came upon us suddenly, and over a long period of time: In the quiet of the night, away from the loud (and awesome) rock and roll space Enation was visiting, our fearless frontman Jonathan has been writing more amazing, heartfelt songs. These songs are too good to lose, and they have never found spaces on our previous two albums, and finally, after one too many listens of them, we couldn't take it anymore. An instinct rose up and said, "It's time to make another album with these songs." The album is called "Soul & Story: Volume One" and it chronicles a different side of the band. These are not B-tracks, these are songs that fit into a different space than a rock and roll album. (We plan on exploring more of this musical space as the years go on, that's why to us, it's "Volume One", a beginning). We'll be cranking up the volume again in the near future, but for now, sit back, relax, and enjoy a different side to our music.
Thanks for listening,
