Album Notes

"Captivating... One of the most elegant formations of American rock."

“Much of the material on the Pacific Northwest band’s ‘World in Flight’ is driven by echo-laden guitars reminiscent of U2, splashes of piano that call to mind Coldplay and an arena-rock backbeat that holds it all together.”

"Fast becoming recognized as one of the best epic rock bands around, the group combines expensive jams with honest, soulful lyricism."
-– CD BABY / Notable Artist, Newsletter

"Enation have more talent than England has rain. Have you got an umbrella?"
-– JON THATCHER / Member, Delirious?

“Enation work magic… that lets all the raw-nerve intensity of frontman Jonathan Jackson's songwriting bleed out… he'll make you a believer.”

“…compare to Coldplay, Snow Patrol… gentle waves of reverberated guitar and crisp piano lines that suggest a quiet, ponderous spirituality… vivid lyrics…”

“…soothing… great songs… rich in symbolism… Enation… have burst on the scene.”

Enation is an anthemic American rock band with a Euro/Rock flare fronted by Jonathan Jackson. Enation's music has been on MTV.com, 'One Tree Hill', A&E’s ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ and has already had a song go Top 10 on the iTunes Rock Charts as well as held 5 of the Top 10 songs on the National CDBaby Rock Charts, the largest distributor of independent music in the world. Enation was also one of the few bands to be invited to officially represent CDBaby at the International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, TN in February, 2010. Enation has been a long time CDBaby artist, having held 5 out of the Top 10 songs on the CDBaby Rock charts at one time, and having multiple albums go to #1 on their respective national charts. Enation was also asked to donate the song "Eyes of Grace" (from the album 'World In Flight') to the national CDBaby benefit CD to help the victims of the recent Haiti earthquake.

"CDBaby is an incredible vehicle for independent bands like us," drummer Richard Lee has said. "They create a plethora of opportunities that give us the ability to function much like a major label would, with the total freedom that comes with being independent. We're big fans of CDBaby and what they've done for independent artists like us."

Enation is fast becoming known as one of the best epic rock bands around. Combining expanse and creativity sonically with honesty of soul lyrically, Enation have built an international fan base, selling thousands of albums at home and abroad. Their dedicated fans, known as ENATION ARMY, are so passionate that they have traveled across states, coasts, and even continents to see them play.

Their newest release, "The Future Is A Memory: Live From The Northwest" is the bands first and long awaited live album. It captures the emotional and sonic energy that has made the band famous. "There is a vulnerability playing live that really captures something different than a studio album. I have really connected with some of my favorite artists over the years first from their live albums or concerts. This new album gives us a chance to express a more complete picture of who we are."

Upon the album's release it went to #1 on the national CDBaby Folk/Rock charts, and 5 out of the Top 10 songs were also held by Enation.

Music for the Soul
This album personifies the heart and soul that is Enation. The lyrics steeped within the songs of this live album are so much more than just words. They represent courage, fear, love, spirituality, and so much more. Enation has a gift in that when their music is playing you get completely lost within the sounds and meaning of the songs. This is one album that once you hear it, you will be playing it over and over again just to see what else you can take away from it. Some of my favorites from this album are, "Suzanne" (Leonard Cohen cover) which Jonathan Jackson definitely does justice to and then some. Also, "Come Clean" and "The Coming Dawn" are both fantastic. All of the songs are absolutely beautiful and I guarantee you will love it!

Love you E! Keep doin' what you do!
