Album Notes

A pretty damn promising well made retro-Thrash Metal

ENDLESS TORTURE was created in Ostersund, Sweden the summer of 2006 and consists of Peter Mellgren (A*TEEM) on vocals, Marcus Edvardsson (SOULDRAINER, CHASTISEMENT, SANCTIFICATION) on guitars & bass and Tom Asvold (PAINCRAZE, DIMENSION34) on drums. Currently the only necessary lineup needed for the first demo AT WAR WITH WAR which was taped right after the birth of the band and was released as a two track demo. You might hear influences from KREATOR, ANNIHILATOR, EXODUS together with a certain Swedish flavor like early THE HAUNTED, CORPORATION 187, CARNAL FORGE or OPPRESSION in it.

Reviewers has described the style as neo- or retro-Thrash Metal probably from the qualitative and right-on songs with good production and a modern sound. Fast guitars and aggressive attitude is the keystone of ENDLESS TORTURE who's goal is to write and record more songs and release a full length album in 2007.

REVIEWS

2 songs of promising, well-made retro-Thrash Metal

January 2007 Released: 2006, Self-financed Rating: 3.5/5 Reviewer: Luxi Lahtinen Endless Torture from Sweden plays sort of retro-Thrash Metal which also has a certain Swedish -flavor to it, too. The Swedish Thrash -combo features Marcus Edvardsson (Souldrainer, Chastisement, Sanctification) on guitars, Tom Åsvold on drums (Paincraze, Dimension34) and Peter Mellgren (A*Teem) on vocals. And that´s really all it needs to create a solid piece of Thrash Metal. Musically, Endless Torture isn´t that far removed from such Swedish combos as early The Haunted, Corporation 187, Carnal Forge, Oppression and the likes as one might believe at first. With a strong stream of aggression and brutality that flow within their song structures, there´s also enough melody added in these two songs they have made available for this pretty damn promising (at least!) sounding demo. The band´s guitarist Marcus is what makes me happy by his truly ass-kicking guitar shredding. The man´s truly trained, knowing exactly to churn out mind-piercing riffs and just overall proving to be one hell of a guitarist. As prove for all this, just tune your ears for the second song “Breed by War” at 1:35 mark, and you are about to shake your head in an agreement with me about this fact. Also, Pete ain´t too bad as a Thrash -vocalist either. He has enough aggression and balls in his vocal delivery that overall support the band´s main intention to get Thrash -fans pleased by what they do this relatively strong sounding demo. Sort of as ´summa-summarum´, 2 songs of promising, well-made retro-Thrash Metal is what´s on offer on this demo. If that´s something that makes you pleased, then by all means give Endless Torture a fair try. Namely it´s about the time to get a bit thrashed mindlessly again...
