Album Notes

Are you ready to Boooooogie????? "Boogie Woogie Special" is a raw, sweaty, high energy session of true Boogie Woogie in the purest and Boogiest sense of the word. Recorded live by Dutch Boogie institution: André Valkering and his then protégé Eric-Jan Overbeek, (a very young Mr.Boogie Woogie!) the music jumps and swings like mad, track after track including the wailing opener "Roll Over Boogie" right through to the last "Honky Tonk Train Blues". The swinging "Pianorepairman Boogie" written and performed by Overbeek gives us the first glimpse of the lightning quick, pounding left hand that will become Overbeek's signature. Once heard Boogie Woogie Special will quickly take it's deserved place as one of the classics of your boogie collection.

A friend lend me a copy of the CD, but it wasn't enough for my pleasure, I need to have the real CD in my hands. I'm a DJ and I need to give to the dancers such good moments of happiness.

Boogie woogie with a blues-rock groove. A treet.
author: Patrick Blanchin
This CD goes beyond what I expected. It's boogie woogie with more. I'm a guitarist and blues-rock fan that's been collecting discs and CDs for decades (I'm 57) and I can hear in this CD that blues-rock groove that I've always craved for. I just got the CD over the weekend. I'm going to spend time listening to it closely!
