The EP's
The EP's write and play great songs. Ten unforgettable tunes guarantee this CD to be an enjoyable listening experience. The songs range in format from Texas Rockers like Texas Girls and Drinkin' With The Boys to pop/Alternative songs like Norry's Got a Girlfriend and Beach Fluff to the orchestrated song Time. All ten songs take advantage of The EP's superb vocals.
The cover of The EP's album "CHUCK" is a 1957 abstract painting of Elvis Presley by the late Stuart Sutcliffe. Stuart painted this while he was a member of the Silver Beatles with best friend John Lennon. Stuart was also a member of The Beatles when the members were Stuart Sutcliffe, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Pete Best. Pauline Sutcliffe (Stuart's sister) wrote a letter granting the right to use her brother's artwork to The EP's.
"CHUCK" is the first Rock Album to feature the artwork of Stuart Sutcliffe.
Another interesting feature of The EP's album "CHUCK" is the appearance of Rock and Roll Guitar Legend Rick Derringer. Rick plays guitar on and Co-Produces two of the ten tracks on "CHUCK" . Rick Derringer had mega hits in the sixties and seventies with Hang on Sloopy and Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo and has played on recordings with Steely Dan, Meatloaf, Todd Rundgren, Cindi Lauper, and countless others. He has also produced numerous gold and platinum albums by artist as diverse as Edgar Winter and Weird Al Yankovic.
A quartet from The Fort Worth Symphony plays on Time, a song Drummer Danny Wilkerson wrote about his two children. Playing stand up bass on Time is George Anderson. George played bass for and co-wrote songs with Vanilla Ice but what most impressed The EP's was the fact that George played on the original Barney the Dinosaur videos.
Both the CD and cassette were mastered by Bernie Grundman.
