The son of a preacher and a lounge singer, Erich Von Kneip grew up doing his school homework on the control room floors of LA's recording studios while his mother sang in the other room. Deciding to follow her lead into the glamorous world of independent music, he learned to play some various musical instruments and proceeded to spend his youth underpaid and sleep-deprived, traveling around three continents and sharing the stage with various musicians, hucksters, bums and go-go dancers.
"A Collection of Abject Musings" is the debut CD from Erich Von Kneip. It was inspired by the terrible tendency of life's events to veer off course, out of our control, and into certain oblivion. The music is performed by a small ensemble consisting of acoustic guitar, contrabass, vibraphone, violin, trumpet, mandolin, cello, and various percussion instruments.
Erich hopes you enjoy this musical endeavor.

The real thing

Erich's homework stints in the recording studios definitely paid off! This is a just plain great CD by a great artist and artists. Lou Reed (but only the best), John Lennon, Tom Waits... Classics.
