Eric O’Connell is a songwriter and musician from Duluth, Minnesota. Formerly from central Minnesota, Eric moved to the North Country to spend more time working creatively and enjoying the natural surroundings. The spectacular beauty of the area continues to inspire his songwriting.
Courtney O’Connell Carlson is Eric’s oldest daughter who also hails from the Duluth area adds the harmony vocals. Kristin O’Cooper, Eric’s younger daughter from Napa, CA, also sings on a couple of tracks.
Eric and Courtney’s style is classic folk (or some have called his stuff “alternative country”). Last.fm compares Eric’s work to artists like John Prine or Townes Van Zandt. One of Eric’s fans notes, “The songs he writes are warm and moving – really intimate.” Eric paints a picture with his words and the strong musical line deepens the hue. “Eric’s work is real – real people and places - we can picture them, we know them.” And everyone loves to hear Eric’s skill on the Gurian steel-string guitar.
O’Connell, Carlson, and O’Cooper are down-to-earth musicians, “friendly, soulful folk.” Check them out on the web at: www.ericjoconnell.com or www.reverbnation.com/ericoconnell (also MySpace, Facebook, and Last.fm).

Music about life
author: Erik
I listened to this CD just about every evening during my first couple of years of college. The songs are about life and tell stories that anyone can identify with. "'Roll Along' you day's of the week"... this CD was a wonderful part of those days rolling along. I highly recommend it.
