Great album!

Serenade is a great album that gets better with each listening! Eric Slavin's skilled and sensitive guitar playing adds great depth and scope to such wonderful music. I was not familiar with this music prior to listening to the CD but have liked the album so much, I play it at the clinic I work to augment patient's healing. Many tell me they enjoy it quite a bit too! Thank you!

I love your solo disc; listened to it straight away. I'm a big fan also of Ralph Towner so enjoyed your renditions of 4 of his pieces. And the title piece by Philip Rosheger was particularly evocative. I wasn't familiar with Walter Heinze and Jose Luis Merlin but loved their compositions Adding percussion on Concordancia #5 was a brilliant move. The acoustics in the church really are wonderful. And your playing is superlative, Eric.
great acheivement !

Serenade

This is easily my favorite classical guitar recording of the last few years. I love the Ralph Towner pieces but I was not familiar with the music of Walter Heinze or José Luis Merlin and I was not prepared for the impact that these pieces have had on me. Eric Slavin performs each one of them in a laid-back but highly emotive style. “Chacarera” by Merlin just blows me away! Have a listen…. you won’t be disappointed.

A great new CD that includes wonderful works by Heinze, Towner and others. Many of these pieces have not been recorded frequently making this a valuable addition as "off the beaten path" classical guitar CD. The sound of the Gilbert guitar, recorded in a small chapel in rural New Mexico, is luscious with wonderful definition and a spacious sound. Eric Slavin has a deep affinity and understanding of this music, providing relaxed interpretations that will linger long after the last notes fade. Highlights include Heinze's Concordancia No 5, Towner's Anthem, and the lovely Serenade by Rosheger. Highly recommended!
