Album Notes

Eric Smith was born Mark Eric Smith in St. Andrew Jamaica. He grew up with his mother, Lisa Cox, in the working class community of Gordon Town,
St. Andrew and other working class areas of Kingston. He credits his mom and cousin, May Badroo and her husband William, for his early moral teachings.
The social and economic realty of life in the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaica is the source of the powerful social and political commentaries that permeate
Eric’s music. He looks to the works of Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Nelson and Winnie Mandela for political inspiration.
He resorts to music as the medium to voice ghetto people’s life-long struggle for equal rights and justice; for his message of change; and to expose the
decaying morality that is infecting and corrupting the youth and contemporary society.

Eric gets his spiritual strength and inspiration from the Almighty, Jah Rastafari in whom he rests his unbending faith and conviction. He acknowledges and
reveres the work of artists like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jacob Miller, Black Uhuru, Junior Reid, Dennis Brown, Brigadier Jerry and Burning Spear and credits
them for his musical inspiration and motivation. Eric acknowledges the following people whose work, advice, and support made this album possible:
Elio Morgan, M. Atkinson, M. Jones aka Wagon, G. Arnold, N. Anderson aka Zion, L. McLaren aka Wall street, Nyah Binghi.

There were more people on the floor for this than anything else. Take a second and order this CD. It's goin places.
