Best of Two Worlds
author: Goto
Since Erika Luckett is the one who goes beyond boundaries, it is natural for her to employ various techniques and styles. After her beautiful and sometimes poignant debut album, she displays this time double folded approach to make things even more intriguing. On one hand, this is a work of careful production that makes it probably her most accessible work till this day; she shows such mastery of styles, we are left and drunk in a kaleidoscopic space of musical seduction. Yet, on the other hand, her unique combination of deep passion and cool intelligence, strength and sometimes painfully honest sensitivity penetrate the smoothly engineered soundscape and transform each style she chose into something only she can create and play. This unique complexity gives this album such overwhelming charm, many of us fall to her immediately. And the best thing is, her honest, authentic being is full of mystery by its own right that we can’t possibly go through in our limited life time. How can it possibly better?

...I wish I could live me life the way she plays the guitar...
author: Rachel Yoder
I had the opportunity to hear Erika perform live at the Mad Linguist in Prescott, AZ. With about 15 people in atttendance that night, the intimate setting was the perfect showcase for her dazzling performace. She is incredible, a guitar guru, not to mention a breathtakingly beautiful woman, performer, and person. Her music is profound and liberating; I wish I could live my life the way that she plays the guitar: winged inspiration with no boundaries, fingers dancing across steel, faint smile tickling the lips. An unforgettable performance and musician. Thank you, Erika, for sharing your music with the world.

A rich collection of songs
author: Hugh Lovell
"My Little Crime" clearly shows Erika's growth in confidence and artistic skill as a solo artist. If you bought Erika's previous CD, "Tinted Glass," and are expecting more of the same, or if you've only heard these songs in performance with just voice and guitar, then get ready for a surprise.
In "My Little Crime," the songs are much more varied in their moods and subject matter, ranging from hope and passion to dark grief. In addition, the songs have a strong lyrical and melodic structure that allows Erika's songwriting skills and musical influences to shine through.
What also marks "Crime" apart from "Glass," is its rich instrumentation and layered production along with restrained use of sound textures.
This is a fine CD by a highly talented artist. Be sure to check out Erika live as well so you can see her cool guitar chops in action!

Best new album I've heard in years!!
author: Tom Spalding
I stumbled across Erika's music a few months back, and it's been the sound track for my life ever since. "My Little Crime" is loaded with enticing vocals, lovely guitar work, and intelligent, enchanting songs:
"Postcard From Graceland" - 'I'm missing you, but life is good.' Longing, but no self-pity here. And what a groove!
"Besame" - Is this even legal? Perfectly captures that moment when love, lust and languor collide. Don't even think of listening to this without your sweetie close by.
"Lunacy" - Cole Porter with a woman's touch, a ballad that's a can't miss jazz standard.
Erika assembled a great supporting cast for this CD - percussion, keyboards, horns tastefully arranged to enrich the songs but never overwhelm them.
Also worth checking out are her most recent CD, "The New Orleans Sessions" and her first release, "Tinted Glass."
