When this music plays, children and families get up and dance!

Playing music, writings songs, and singing from their hearts, the band has inspired kids to take guitar, bass, piano, and drum lessons, write and record their own songs, and dance when their spirit says dance. Little groupies are always right in the middle of rehearsals and shows--dancing, playing instruments, and grabbing the mic. Their voices are deep in the lyrics and rhythm of the songs and literally sprinkled throughout the CD, dreamers of dreams.

Erin started piano lessons at age four and spent many hours as a kid playing Annie in her living room--singing and emoting along with her big sister's record from the Broadway musical. But it was playing Peter Pan on stage in seventh grade that truly inspired Erin. Upon graduation from Northwestern University in Theater Arts, Erin began teaching and directing theater for young people. Erin directed children's theater pieces, rocked birthday parties, and taught music and art classes at the Children's Museum of Manhattan. In Philadelphia, Erin worked as the Theater Coordinator at Please Touch Museum and later became a nursery school teacher. Erin's grandmother was a beloved music teacher and Erin became a teacher who involved music and singing in most every aspect of learning. Erin has a masters degree in early childhood and currently teaches Wiggleworms at The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. In additiona to teaching, she performs her original children's music shows and rock concerts for kids.

Erin Flynn most recently played shows at World Cafe Live, The Old Town School of Folk Music, Peggy Notebart Nature Museum, Pritzker Pavillion in Millenium Park, Chicago Children's Museum, Chicago's Folk and Roots Festival, Kohl Children's Museum, Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia, The Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, PA, and The Children's Museum of Manhattan.

On this album, Erin is backed by a fabulous group of musicians. They are:
Drummer Keith Yaller also know to drum with The Rhythm Junkies, About Face, Sista Blue, John Alexander band and The Kwerks.

Guitarist and bass player Chip Cypress once played with the rockabilly band, Babalou and currently plays bass in the Kwerks.

Bass player Peter McCoubrey played with the Fabulous Fondas and currently plays with the Hooligans.

Conga player and percussionist, Colin Browne, formerly of the bands Mr. Snooks, Die Kunst per Drum and Rhythm Dupes, plays congas in The Kwerks.

Guitarist Tom Dolgenos plays with the Kwerks.

Backup vocalist Kim Empson sings with the Kwerks.

The CD also features Steve Sayers on trumpet, music producer Dean Pailas on keyboard and mixmaster Andy Kravitz on tambourine. While this group of talented musicians has experience playing in many bands, the process of making this album for kids proved to be an important and magical journey.

Erin's voice is soft and nurturing during songs like, Twinkle, and rock out fun with Mary Mack. The Co-op band is really talented.

Beautiful voice and family friendly songs
author: Jen Hoeveler
Erin Flynn's voice is similar to Liz Phair (only better). Her words are family friendly, but not "cutesy". My kids (17 months and 4 years) both rock out. Dreamer of Dreams is one of my favorites.
