Album Notes

"She may be from Austin, Texas, but Erin Ivey is making sweet folk pop reminiscent of two of our favorite Frenchies, Soko and Yael Naim.

Sweet is the perfect word to describe Ivey's song Chocolate. Like a cup of hot cocoa, the tune is so endearing and warm you wanna go back for seconds!

Enjoy the deliciousness..."

Erin Ivey is a seasoned performer/singer/songwriter who has been featured as the voice of Apple Computer and in Red Bull Energy Drink promotions. In 2007, Ivey was voted one of Austin's Top 4 Unsigned Artists. She was chosen from over 400 artists to become the first Artist-in-Residence at Rumblefish in Portland, Oregon, where she recorded her debut full-length album, The 11th Floor. While she was there, one Portland journalist wrote, "I would kill for a purr like that."

I'm not one to review anything, but I figured I'd go ahead and give it a shot. Erin Ivey is incredibly talented as a singer and songwriter. I love the CD. Everyone who I've made listen have loved it so far. So yeah, you rule. Peace.

The Girl Can Sing

There's no question Erin Ivey can sing, and that alone was enough to keep me listening. The more I listen, the more I like it. I'm no fan of the country stylings, but I love the jazzy songs and the songwriting is terrific. For an album of pop songs, it is surprisingly eclectic. Great first effort, and you can tell the best is yet to come. Own this album if for no other reason than to say you were a fan back when...

Great voice but the songs are a bit too predictable

Erin's reasons to buy this CD were so funny to me, so that i bought this CD. She has a beautiful voice, really wonderfully sweet. This CD overall is kind of boring. There's some outstanding songs, like Seperational, I like the odd singing there, but most of the songs are 4/4, are ordinairy pop songs with some country influence. I miss a bit more originality and passion behind the songs. After 3 times of listening this album s annoying somehow. The voice is great, just the songs here aren't perfect to me. Maybe she'll learn with her 2nd album. If you like Mainstream pop with a girl that really can sing then get this one and give it a try.
