Album Notes

Erin Jordan is singer and songwriter living in Seattle, Washington. Generally a writer of narrative songs, Erin's songs combine classic storytelling with poetic lyrics, and her unique musical arrangments. While her style ranges from folk to alternative country to cabaret rock, Land of Milk and Honey is an album of coffee house folk that showcases her story telling skills, unique voice, and fingerpicking guitar style.

Land of Milk and Honey was recorded in Chicago in 2003. Some the songs are eerie and sparse, with just guitar and vocals, while other songs were arranged and preformed with percussion, bass and viola. Many of the songs were inspired by a road trip along highway 101. Overall these 10 songs are about travel, literally and figuratively.

I have seen Erin perform several times and bought this album from her. She writes great lyrics, has a unique voice and creates good melodies, which is something I normally see lacking in starting artists like her. I will say now from personal experience trying to "promote" her album that not everyone will like her voice, just like not everyone likes Jewel's, but if you do like it, I bet you'll love this cd.
