Album Notes

Erin Leah has been singing and dancing since she was 10 years old. She has been training operatically and singing in a’cappella groups since attending boarding school. Erin has also been playing the flute since she was 10 years old. She is a professionally trained ballet, modern ballet, Hip-Hop and African dancer. Her first passion was dance. She danced at North Carolina School of the Arts and many other schools throughout the country. She has attended Martha Graham Dance School, Susquehanna School of Dance, Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway under the tutelage of teachers such as Finis Jung and Michael Vernon as well as her mentor Paul Sanasardo when she was 9 until the age of 13. She has been in dance companies such as the Underground Dance Project and has her own house and modern jam session at Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre and School when she is in town. Erin Leah has had a deep desire to perform and to achieve success in the art world from the time she was 4 years old. Early on in her song writing career, she received honorable mention and runner up for the VH1 Song of the Year Contest for September two years in a row. Musically, she has worked with the likes of Jeff Lockhart who was Brian McKnight’s Musical Director and Guitarist, Adam Deitch on the track Mojo, who has worked with countless artists including John Scofield, Shakira, Lauryn Hill, Justin Timberlake among others, Chris Griffin as the esteemed Mixing Engineer and Producer whose credits include Madonna, John Legend, Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson among others. Miles Robertson also plays keys on the project as well as Mark Kelly on bass who has worked with many platinum artists. Dave McNair is the Mastering Engineer. Erin Leah also has her own label and art holding company Calliope 22 which was named after the muse who inspired Homer to write the Odyssey. She is working on developing her project for the stage which will incorporate big choreography with the music. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Masters in Business. Her first love is music and dance but she is a firm believer in the power of education and the power of young people to become involved to improve the world and build a sustainable future in this global age.
